Artist Spotlight: Beyoncé

Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ is a shift in what we’ve known from Beyoncé over the years, however it is as intricately and thoroughly produced to the level that we’re used to.

At 27 songs in length, the album is a seamless exploration and insight into the sound of Country Music through the mind of one of the biggest talents in the music world. With features across the project and multiple collaborative writers and producers, the magnitude of Cowboy Carter cannot be overlooked!

Although the genre is Country, there are still soulful, RnB elements throughout the tracks and an emphasis on vocal ability and range. The duets with Miley Cyrus and Willie Jones are perfect examples of the beauty of music when genres are blended and stretched.

Tracks such as SPAGHETTII, YAYA and RIIVERDANCE are nods to the most recent Beyoncé sounds of Renaissance and show the continuity and relationship between the three acts as they are revealed one by one.

It’s fun to speculate about what Act III might be, however it is also beautiful to sit with this album and take in the magic of Country Music on a mainstream level, performed by a Black artist!

Listen to COWBOY CARTER and enjoy the album in it’s entirety.
