Snoh Aalegra delivers another smooth, sultry track
Snoh Aalegra releases another smooth, sultry track, ‘Dying 4 Your Love’, which explores the fragmented emotions involved in loving someone who doesn’t reciprocate the love.
Snoh seems to have solidified herself as an artist who explores the themes of relationships and love through her album ‘Ugh, Those Feels Again’ released in 2019. The mourning of love is evident in the latest release through the lyricism which speaks directly to an unrequited love.
When I can close my eyes listening to ‘Dying 4 Your Love’, I’m transported to a deserted island. Visualising the shore as the tide pulsates around my ankles, washing away the insecurities of relationships. The feeling I get from the heavy bass is similar to the sound of a calm tide, which sounds like the type of sadness that you feel when losing a love that you thought was the one. Snoh’s silky vocals captures this and transports you to memories and moments which will undoubtedly have you in your feels!
Much like the artwork of this track, there is a dominant colour of deep, dark blue and the scents of lavender seems to creep in. Much like the subtle marriage of the guitar and the bass, everything about this track seems aligned and well put together.
For some, the simplicity of this track is what creates the magic – a soft, delicate ode to love which is packaged in just over 3 minutes. It’s no surprise that it’s been on repeat since I first heard it!
Could “Dying 4 your love” be a hint at more music coming out this year and possibly another project? Listen here:
